AMERICAN GAME CARTRIDGES ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
American Game Cartridges, Inc. (AGCI) was founded in Arizona in 1990 and was headed up by a former employee of Tengen/Atari. They licensed technology from fellow unlicensed NES game manufacturer Color Dreams to defeat the NES lockout chip system and released only 3 games before going out of business in 1991. There are no variants of the AGCI games, so completing the set isn't as difficult as some other unlicensed publishers.

Before they went out of business, AGCI was working on a few new games, including Wally Bear and the NO! Gang. When AGCI shut down the rights to Wally Bear were passed to American Video Entertainment, and they ultimately published the game. However, ACGI did run an ad in USA Today where you could order Wally Bear. The copy pictured here is the only one known to exist. It is unclear if it is a late-stage prototype, production sample, or part of a small print run intended for sale. This copy has since been graded a 5.0 by Wata.
